Default TA-4J VA-127 "The Mig"

Well I decided to take a break from the Tomcat's but really I am need to restock on Aires cockpits. This skyhawk was originally going to be H&MS-24, but I was tooling with doing a Top Gun Scooter and the "The Mig" really stands out to me.

The kit was built straight out of the box and the only addition to it will be some resin seats, and an AMCI pod from the CA kits I have in the stash. I painted her up with a mix of Acyrlics and Enamel paints(MM, Gunze, Polly Scale).

The base color calls for a Sand but I decided to use a Sandy Yellow to kind of give it a blended/faded look to it. Instead of using mixing paints to to lighten or one is darker than the other.

I couldn't decide on whether to use FTD or Afterburners since have some different variations to them, but I decided to go with Afterburners since it had the rounded wing tips.

Well here she is about 75% done, just need to finish some things in the office, install the legs, paint the slats and horizontal stabs, and the AMCI pod.

I hope you guys like.

Thanks
Stanton

WOW! I'll bet masking that was pretty tedious!

Thanks guys...and yes doing the masking was Pain In THE ASS!!!!! I must of spent a total of 6 hours painting and masking today. I just notice that I forgot to paint a small spot of Dark Tan on the Vertical Stab where the Top Gun Patch goes. But oh well, I need to start painting the horizontal stabs, and gear doors now so that I can mask, and paint them so she can start to look more like a Bad ASS Adversary Scooter.

More to follow soon.

Well guys last night after a few coats of future I decided to give "The Mig" a nice wash of Promodeller "DarK" to really bring out the lines and also tone down the brown so that it isn't really overwhelming,

She is going to be loaded with Two Mikes 150 gallon Fuel Tank and a ACMI pod from the Classic Airframes kit.

I had to drill out the holes on the fuel tank so that hard points would fit fully on the tank.

Well it is off to do some landing gears and camo painting

Thanks
Stanton

Damn that looks good! I have a CA TA-4J and the Fightertown decals for that exact jet, but it is intimidating me from the stash, I can't make eye contact with it yet. Yours looks great!
