Lolz! She was great! My wife and I will usually fall asleep watching Golden Girls.

Whoa, I think we've successfully hijacked this thread.

So, what's the count so far on our little, much hijacked, idea here? Who's all in?

I just received my third and perhaps final F-15DJ "Aggressor" from Sprue Brothers. There are some nice schemes worn by those Japanese aggressor squadrons.
The question I have is are all the Japanese F-15DJs equipped with the "FAST" packs or whatever they call them, or they don't have it at all?
I know Hsegawa makes an F-15E Strike Eagle (which is not accurate), but it does bring the "FAST" elements in the kit.
Check out this "Jaggressor":

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Japan...gle/1578396/L/

I do not see the "FAST" elements attached. These Hasegawa 1/48 F-16DJs kits do not have them in the box.

By the way, can someone identify the centerline pod on this pix.....

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Japan...gle/0674699/L/

As usual, CHEAP Hasegawa does nor include the Japanese AA-3 missiles, having to buy the separate "JASDF Weapons Set A" which brings four. Now, I have to get the centerline pod seen in the above pix, also.

Thanks!

The only B/D's I've seen consistantly carry the FAST packs/CFT's is the Israeli jets. That is not meant to be a difinitive answer though, as I admit there are many people out there that know a lot more about light grays than me. The pod you see on the C/L is the AN/ALQ-131 ECM pod.

Don't know of any FAST packs on Japanese Eagles. Not saying there aren't any, just can't recall ever seeing pictures of them. As far as I can recall, Hasegawa only put the FAST packs in the pseudo-F-15E kit in 1/48; but again, I could be wrong. I think they kitted an Iceland-based eagle at some point; and may have included them, but really not sure- perhaps others here can be more positive, but I don't think you need them to model a Japanese Washi aggressor.

Thanks for the responses.
I've looked thru the web and I've seen no evidence of these FAST packs attached. So, I m going to go ahead and build them without them. I have to look for the AN/ALQ-131s in my spare parts box.
Again, thanks guys!

I have to tell you, I'm more excited about his concept and build than anything I've done in modeling here lately! This is going to be one of the cooler things we've done since Z5 opened its doors.

I'm kinda getting excited for it too. I've wanted to do all varients of the Strike for quite a while now, and this will help me get all the way through it in a timely manner and help me keep motivated. I went through and raided two of my Tamiya F-16's for the PW exhausts to use on my F-15I. I'm thinking they'll look good with the AB carbon fiber decals on them from the Viper stencil sheet. I'm also getting ready to order the LAU-128's, seats, wheels, etc that I need for the project. I'm hoping that by the time I get to the SG, there will be a conversion set and decals out for it.

Talkin' bout Twin Seater Eagles....
Which bang seat do the Japanese "DJs" use?
Does your Revell kit includes the FOD covers?
Thanks!

-Js & -DJs are basically license-built versions of the USAF's F-15C & D models. ACES II seats. The Mono-Rev 1/48 F-15E kit comes with 'hard' FOD intake covers.

Yes, it is coming together. I set up the forums this morning and will work on the 'rules' and list of participants throughout the week.

You are all more than welcome to start adding your build threads in the appropriate forum.

Intriguing GB idea Dave, however I'm curious as to why such a short time frame, less than four months, for such an ambitious project? Why not allow more time?

Would the themes be limited to aircraft type only or would themes such as 'Yank's in the RAF' be allowed?

Thanks,
Mark

The 2011 Nats, not the 2010 Nats, so we have over a year for the GB.
