Yeah, I'll probably do it. That looks like one of Don Schmenk's kits, BTW.

Hey, I just realized what those thick-walled, flash-covered, bucket-shaped thingies on the sprues are! They're the intakes that go inside the main engine intakes! Thanks for the pic!

Here's my attempt to polish a turd: Revell's 727-100.

I used a clear cockpit part left over from a Daco 737 and the center intake from Authentic Airliners. I should have gone ahead and bought the rest of Kurt's kit to go with the intake! The langing gear is so bad I'm going to pull it off as soon as I have time to build a stand for the model. What a waste of a rare set of decals!

Very nicely polished turd

I decided a long time ago that Kurt's kits were worth the cost if you actually care about scale fidelity.

Can't wait to see his 707-320B.

Oooooooooh! 727s are so cool, and you did this one up nice! I really wish someone would put out some aftermarket landing gear for the 727. I just dragged out my 757-300 again just in time to see Kurt release his. I'm at the point, as well, that I'd rather just give Kurt the money than beat myself up trying to build up a turd into something that is sort of a reasonable representation. If I had Ben's skills though....

Thanks guys! The only skills here are my ability to make a bad model look good by using poor photography.

I might have to get one of Kurts, kits, but I've got a couple of other expensive kits on my wish list for this year already.

Cheers!

Ben

I've never said this before, but well...that's a nice looking nice turd!

Cheers,

Mark

Just sucks to hear you are so disappointed in it. It looks outstanding as far as Revell 727-100 builds go and and you did a lot to square away that old kit.

Here's what the Revell kit looks like compared to the Minicraft kit. Looks like a jacked-up 4X4! I've got another Minicraft kit in the stash, so if I don't put it up on a stand, I may rob the MC kit of it's gear. After my initial rant, I've chilled about the model, now. It is only a little plastic airplane after all, isn't it?

Cheers!

Ben
