Default Grey Ghosts anyone?

FINALLY!!!! We have a new sheet going to print. This is the first of three sheets that covers the Grey Ghosts of VMA(aw)531 & VMFA-531. We gave the Skyknight & Skyray some love along with 3 F-4B's and 2 N's. We'll post pics of the sheet once the final touches have been applied

Thanks for lookin,
Kevin

Hey! You can't besmirch the prowess of the Mighty Skynight by bringing up the fact that one of its monikers is turd spelled backwards. That was unjustly earned very late in it's career, and really only because the Corps hangs on to stuff way longer than it should...

(Okay...I don't really know for a fact that it gained that nickname only late in life, but hey, it sounds like a good counterpoint and this is the internet)

That AND it's the only jet I know that even approaches the success of the F-15 in AIR TO AIR combat! 0 losses to some kills! Well, the 0 part anyway...

I'm also going to have to go out and get one of those J to B/N conversion thingys...

Great Sheet!

Well Wiki tells (there always right) that the Skynight is 6 (1 prop and 5 jets) and 1 (stupid Navy).

Wiki says lost...NOT shot down

Investigating!

Okay...According to this site, it looks like it was 2:

Quote:
* 530702 Bick/Smith USMC F3D-2 1 x MiG-15

1. V-VS MiG-15 1 x F3D-2 (Bick/Smith MIA)

* 530704 V-VS MiG-15 1 x F3D-2 (Thistlewaite/Westbrook MIA)
To those that paid the ultimate sacrifice...

Sorry for taking the thread slightly off track...Got to buy this sheet! (There, back on!)

I know, I found this that suggests it was shot down.

I always recommend folks buy Impact decal sheets.

Thanks,

Kevin,

You could not have timed this announcement any better. I have three of the Czech Model F3D-2 kits and was going to list one on Ebay Sunday evening.

I would have been pissed if I saw this after it was listed with bids made on it!

Looks awesome and can't wait for it to go on sale!

S/F,

Dave

(Squealing like a teen-age girl at the mall) OMG!!!!
"First of three sheets"? Would Part 2 be -531 WW2 and Korea-era (F7F, PV-2, F3D in Sea Blue)? Would Part 3 be -531 F/A-18s?

The F-4B with the Ark Royal makings will make a lot of FAA fans happy.

To add to JohnB's question...

If there are any GSB F3Ds on the future sheets, any chance one of them is BuNo 127066, LT/14 as pictured in the VMF(N)-531 section of Ginter?

Would you accept bribes if it wasn't?

Hmmm... I'm NOT sayin' I know anything (cos I DON'T), but I could see how there could be a props/GSB sheet. They did fly the F3D and F7F in Gloss Sea Blue. They did fly the PV-1 and there's one of those coming out in 1/48th!

Again, I don't know anything! (But that doesn't stop one from hoping.)
