Default 1/144 Airliner cockpits

I was gonna try and knock out a couple from the shelf of doom when I get back to the bench, before I buy some Minicraft KC-135's...does anyone make a resin cockpit, or do people ever build any from scratch? It just seems everyone throws a decal over it and its done. Sadly, that's not my style, any tips, pointers, etc?

Authentic Airliners makes some cockpit windscreen decals that are amazingly realistic. Just something to consider.
