Default Boss Hawg

Thought I would see how the Revellogram A-10 builds up. This kit's mold is 32 years old and the shape is really outstanding. I am going to use a minimal amount of aftermarket additions, Resin ACES II seat, Master GAU-8 cannon barrels. Going to be a Lizard Green Euro I scheme with sharkmouth (At least that's my vision). Got Jakes' Modern Hog Book coming tomorrow so I will have a good guide to scratch n' fix some things I come across. I have a couple HB A-10's with aftermarket bits but these Monogram legacy kits build up nicely. Anyhoo doing some prelims. 4 pieces to the cockpit, I have since built up the tub and changed the seat to a Quick Boost ACES II with belts. I might finish this one more quickly!

Looks like someone else likes to cut out Revellogram seats and replace them.
I have done that on several of the F-4 kits.

Is that a True Details seat? I can't find a Quickboost Aces II or A-10 seat.

I have done one A-10 in that same scheme you are going to do.

Cheers,

Jerry

That is the TD ACES II seat, I was going to use it as it is very nice, but found a couple QB ACES II in the stash. Both are the same size and fit spot on, I like the buckle details on the QB seats and the rails on the TD seat are not quite straight. Revellogram & Airfix have a few gems that get overlooked.

While waiting for the paint to cure on the pit and nose gear well I decided to tackle the short intake ducts on the TF-34's. Pretty simple to use Evergreen strips and a circle template for the extended duct, match your diameters, build up the layers with Mr. Cement S on the edge. I had to shave the locating nubs off the inner nacelles to get a tight butt fit.

The instruction sheet would have you install the cockpit, close the fuselage, then finish the nose wheel well & strut. This would be difficult to get right after painting and it is critical to get the correct fit or the nose strut will not be straight. Better to install before you close the fuselage.

The extended duct fitted to the cut off cowl ring, smooth and ready for paint and details. It will have to be fitted back on the engine pods but it corrects the intake depth issue since SH Resin corrections are hard to find.

The rear of the pod is finished as normal. The fit to the fuselage is not that bad.

More to come.
