I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in my desire to have a 1/48 RF-8 that doesn't require major surgery/conversion from an F-8 kit. How about it?

Or how about just the fuselage and glass as an injection molded item as a conversion set for the hasegawa F-8.

Both ideas work for me. Resin would be ok. Decals for the VFP-62 RF-8s that went to Cuba during the missile crisis would be a big PLUS!
Ideally a 1/48 Hasegawa RF-8 magically appears.

A correctly shaped conversion or kit in 1/72 would be helpful as well.
Right now, the only ones we have need to have the F-8E nosecone put on the front, and that is way too large. I think 1/48 conversions are like this as well? In the meantime, it can be done, but you have to use a base kit, a conversion kit, and an F-8A resin conversion set. That is the only way to get the Recce parts, and the narrow nose of the F-8A/RF-8A and G. An F-8A-D and RF-8 model kit in both scales seems almost a no brainer. Just make the front fuselage like Airfix's F2H-2/2P kit. You have to wonder why this could be done for the Banshee in the sixties/seventies, and can't be done for the F-8 now.
