Hey Spaz,
Just curious......what are you going to do to replicate the FS paint color? Are you going to custom mix the color or are you going to use one of the manufactured colors. There aren't a lot of paint makers that have this specific FS color. Let me know!

Hi All:

If you all are looking for the correct color for this beast. MRP has FS36170 ready to go. I might just get a couple of bottles of this just for giggles.

It was hard to get, I bought 2 bottles of paint and 2 bottles of sheen before I even got a kit. Still gotta figure it out...

Hi All:

just got my Eduard Brassin AGM-154's for my beast. Will be doing a mini review on these as well when I get to them. In the box they look fantastic. Not too many parts but really looking the part. Decals are included.
Anybody know if the masks for the Meng kit will work for the Kitty Hawk kit? Much more coming...

Just build a brand new 35, they are solid painted and you won't have to worry about masking that crap off...that's my plan...

Default VT Markings

Hi:

No plans on doing VT markings till they fly over once or twice. The folks in Burlington are vapor locking about this jet coming into Burlington. My thing is, Do you want to feel safe or do you want quiet? For me I would much rather have the safety of knowing nobody is going to screw with us having them there. Time to any hotspot in New England is minutes from wheels up to overhead.

Hi Gang:

Put wings, tails, and horizontal stabs together. Pit is painted, decal was put on the forward instrument panel. Seat was painted and assembled and placed in the pit. Pit was glued into the upper half of the fuselage with no problems. Engine was placed into the lower half of the fuselage. Weight was placed into the forward end of the fuselage. The lower half was then glued into place. There was careful fitting and a few of the holes for the pins were deepened with a drill in a pin vice, and the pins were shortened a bit for a precise fit.
Wings were fitted into place and no problems were encountered. When you put the wing bottom and top together, just let the pins go into their respective slots and do not force anything more. There will be a space between the parts and it is there for a reason. When putting the wings onto the fuselage that space will become an apparent part of the assembly. That space between parts will allow trailing edge flaps to be put into place. I did encounter a very small space between the wing and the fuselage which will be corrected with a small shard of sheet plastic. Other than that the kit is rockin!

Default Pics and More Pics...

Hi All:

Finally got some time to take some pics of the beast in mid assembly. Everything is going together as advertised. A few spaces that need some attention but nothing major. Insert some thin thin sheet stock, a bit of Tenax, let set and sand away the evidence of a problem that was hardly there to begin with.

More coming on this one. Having a blast building it!

Yes, I'm I'm going to condut a short thread hi-jack. Just curious if these are ANG birds aready? Or are they actie duty sharing facilties with the VtANG? Reactivating a closed AFB up there? I think I read that few years back that the Raptor already has an ANG unit but I have gone back & researched that topic yet. Thanks.

Hi All:

Everything came to a screeching halt last week. My compressor crapped the bed. I have been working on different other projects and doing non-spraying items. Got it back today so will be up and running tonight. Other than that have been spending a lot of time with my pup! Little guy is my family. Wouldn't trade him for anything!

Hi all:

Have been using the MRP paint line on this and I am finding good results so far. Don't need to thin the paints out and clean up works with lacquer thinner. Don't worry too much if you see that the coverage is not great when you are airbrushing. Make sure you have a good coat that covers and use light coats. When everything levels out, it will be fine. If you decide to use a cover coat like have glass which is available from the same company, any spots that you think will be a problem will be gone. Pics when things are dry...
