Default VFA-94 Mighty Shrikes stationed at Iwakuni in 2011

I have decided to build my 4th F/A-18C in 32nd scale(Academy kit) with the markings of VFA-94 MIghty Shrikes stationed at Iwakuni in 2011. The first step for this particular aircraft is to paint the drop tanks with rising sun.

There is no decals available in the market. So, I decided to paint. It is almost done but some touch ups will be necessary.

Another great start. I have the 1/48 FT decals of these that I had been thinking to use as a mask template for 1/32 project like yourself. To bad there are no decals of cool jets like this in 1/32. Keep up the good work

Guys, thanks for the kinds words, which encouraged me much for building this particular aircraft. Appreciated.

The next step is to paint the tail hook.

I think that this is "No return point".

The next (headaching) step is Fire patterns shown on the LEX,Main outer wings and Horizontal stabilizers. The horizontal stabilizers seem to be the most difficult. So, I decided to start with them.

I used Fightertown decal sheet as template. All Fire patters have been painted.

Please enjoy.

Thanks for Folks for the comments on my VFA-94. Yes, I cut by my hands.

The next step is to paint the Vertical tails. Firstly, I painted white in order to obtain good orange.

[IMG][/IMG]

The mask of Shrike was cut by hands.

The Logo of "SHWFOTS" was painted. The most difficult part of this how to make black shade of Shirike. I also did it by airbrushing. So far I am satisfied with the result.

Please enjoy.

Very patient of you in carefully masking and painting. Not to mention meticulously cutting the mask.
