I've been itchin to do an F-15, this might be a great motivator! I can't believe I didn't notice this until now, I'm so clueless.....

Sounds like an excuse to finally build my 1/48 F-15A ASB project...

Probably not this one, actually. Something with a bit more color, or maybe an ANG jet. Still with a tiny dude in the backseat holding a camera, though.

Hmmm....how'd I miss this? I'm in with a 48th scale Revell F-15C from the 390th FS. If time permits, possibly another one from the 65th AGRS.

Any recommendations for a Charlie? I'm thinking of doing one of the ones up at Kadena. Jake and Motty, thanks for the inspiration.
I'm in with a little (1:72 scale) Academy F-15C. I saw this at my LHS yesterday for $12 and thought that was a bit of a steal.

It'll be an inflight build and I'd really like to a do a 67FS bird after seeing Jake and Motty's pics recently from their Japan trip and watching this video: http://player.vimeo.com/video/40935850 (posted recently HERE).

I'm starting to rethink that "steal" line though. The kit decals are awful, being typical, old Academy stuff. There is no pilot figure. The weapons look pretty lousy. The cockpit is pretty bare. The canopy is not bulged (though at this scale, this sort of accuracy is probably not a huge problem). And finally, there's only one external fuel tank provided.

If you compare the $12 price of this kit to the $30 or so for a Hasegawa, it's maybe not such a bargain after all!

But enough of my complaining. The positives of this kit are that it's got reasonable detail, engraved panel lines, full intake trunks (I'm a sucker for these - though I'm told they're a PITA to get lined up properly), featherless burner cans that look OK, and at the end of the day, it looks like an Eagle. I'm excited to get involved and will post a build, along with some questions about where to get stuff, in another thread soon.
