There's a mono f-20 on eBay now. Search for item 370423880556. You can find the other stuff you need on the Internet too.

I think all modellers should be involved with one of these sorts of builds during their modelling career. It is good practice without the stress about getting markings correct. Clean construction methods still rules.

I was part of a "What-if" group build just recently with a a few local modellers. We finished the models for a show in Calgary in May. We all had to build the 1/48 Tamiya Do 335 in marking it did not fly in and that includes all the French, Brit and American schemes. Here is my entry. I chose Italian mainly because I wanted to try Mike Grant's smoke ring decals. I called it a Macchi 335 . One good thing that came out of this is that I now know how to use those decals which were just great by the way I did get some slight silvering but I believe that is me and not the decals.

Not sure if I can build another one in a What-if scheme but having said that I do have a 1/48 Ta 183 I am looking at in IJAF markings. Hmmm...
Cheers
Chris

I'm keeping an eye on it. May rekindle an old project I never finished years ago now that the revell F-5F is coming back out. A two seater F-20. All that stuff got lost in the shuffle. A story best told over a few beers

I was just thinking. Should we start a new thread in the workbench section. Or can another section be made to fit us in?

I'd be in for something quick and simple. Probably a cheap 1/72 kit with alternate markings. Tamiya F4U maybe? Or a P-47 in Navy blue?

Probably the fastest I can build would be a 1/72 or 1/48 scale F-4D Skyray. Have to decide if it would be painted with Israeli markings or even Canadian.
I am thinking about a three-tone TPS approach or a two-tone "Ghost Grays" version or Israeli "Sand &n Spinach", similar to the P-51 Mustangs flown way back then.
Nice work on that Do-335

I'm am building a 1/32 Academy F/A-18 as a B++ (Super 'B'). A B with all the latest mods based on what the USMC and the CAF are doing with their F-18s.

Not clear as to the markings just yet. I have three choices bouncing around in my head, but will elaborate more on this later.

Look forward to participating in this build. Hope i can get done by deadline.
