Default F/A-4Z Skywinder

This is a quick build that I want to have done in time to take to San Antonio on the 19th of this month to display at the Whatifmodelers.com tables. As the title suggests, I imagine this being a air superiority Skyhawk carrying lots of missiles. This model is a Hobbycraft and I've just found out what I'll bet just about everyone else knows. It's a POS. The cockpit didn't fit worth a pinch of poop, so I left it out. The canopy will be opaque. I've made a few modifications along the way. Here's my progress up to date.

Roger that. I'll be at the What if Modelers table.

Painting is almost done. I've added CFTs as well.

Here's the colors it will be wearing. This will give Tomcat fans a mild heart attack.....

I'm using a tip from an old issue of FSM to do a bit of weathering. 0000 steel wool used around access panels give the look of anti corrosion work and spot cleaning so common out at sea. The effect is subtle and hard to photograph, but here it is. The tip is from a Darren Roberts' article on weathering a Tomcat.
