Default Revell F-18E

What do I need to know about the kit? Also any needs for after market?
Thank you. Rommel.

Pretty nice kit, esp. for the money. Its an older SH, so it needs ECS vents over the originals. It could also use a JHMCS bracket on the canopy sill. The only issues I've had are the shallow intakes, and the even shallower, inconsistant panel lines. It needs alot of rescribing in places, however, it looks all the part when done. "People" have issue with the spine shape, but I am not one of them, and don't wanna pay tons more for Hasegawa. I think with a Hobby Lobby coupon it comes out to $11...a deal to me....here's a good review from Hyperscale http://kits.kitreview.com/fa18ereviewjc_1.htm

He also has a really detailed 4 part build up too on there if you look for it...

Jeff

AWESOME!!!!!!! I have a 1/32 F18 in the stash, and have been thinking about doing a go navy beat army scheme as well.

There was someone here that built one of the best F-18's from the Revell kit, it was even in Fine Scale and was on the cover. I can't remember the guy's name, I thought it was Jesse, but please don't quote me on it.

I used the Wolfpack resin wing fold on the revell F/A-18F ( this set also provides the dropped flaps & slats). Still brings the price in well below the hasagawa kit, BUT the surface detail of the revell kit is NOT as good. The only issue I can see is the profile of the nose (on both revell's 1/72 F/A-18E & 1/48 F/A-18F) appears too pointy, however this can be "mostly" corrected with some aggressive sanding.
