Thanks a heap Habu,

And some of those look bloody good. The Black 1 Bf-109 is perfect, that's the way a model should look. The rose-nose Bf-109 - NOT! From the look of things people are getting away from the Spanish School of Modeling. I'm going to the Roanoke Valley event next Saturday and if things look as well there, I may even consider rejoining IPMS and building models. The way things were going the past five years, I have been so put off with the smoke-bomb technique being the expected norm, I gave up. I don't build dirty models.

The crew looks good, but thanks for posting the Corsairs that look like someone spit on them and the SPAD that looks like a smoke bomb went off inside. Guess I'll hold off on that membership renewal, IPMS is still illustrator bent and not replica bent.

What...only four Spitfires? Thanks for posting those Daniel - good to see some variations on the standard too.

That SHM crew looks like a fearsome bunch

Very nice pictures, Habu. Thanks!
Does anyone know what the devices on top of this Spitfire's wings are?
One on each wing, pretty close to the cannon blister.

Cheers, Stefan.

They're open panels. However, I don't know enough about the Spitfire to say if they're supposed to be open on the ground, or if the modeler just added that detail to go along with the other open panels.

They are part of the flap mechanism, when the flaps drooped, these panels opened up to allow part of the mechanism to work properly.

Thanks, Dave and Drewe.

I believe that Spitfires almost always had the flaps up. Anyway, I had not seen these things before.

Cheers, Stefan.
