I also have to relearn some techniques and improve my airbrush skills. I just started myfirst model a Hasagawa F-16C 1/48 and not happy with it. It seems nothing fits together without gaps..so my putty skills and such much needed work... I have leaned and relearn many things here already, I have been lurking for a while and just got permissions to post. Thanks Motty !! I look forward to reading your posts. I'm 51 retired military US Navy. I spent all my 20 years in the Navy in the Submarine service.

My 1st question.. is there a difference between thinner for enamels and thinner for acrylics?
Welcome Robert!!

Oh well. Thanks anyway.

Hi Robert. Welcome from another newbie. I've only been here a few days but I already think this is the best site going for us model nerds.... Wish I found it sooner.

Default Introduction

Hello to all,

This is my first post, but I have been peeking in quite a lot. I am a keen modeller both when I was young, and now again for a few years.

I like to build 1/32 modern jets and WWII subjects also, mainly Luftwaffe. Currently working on a NSAWC Top Gun Viper, and Academy Hornet with a Tamiya F-15C to come soon.

I have been active on Aircraft Resource Center for quite a while, and look forward to another active and resourceful website.

I find it hard not to have multiple projects going at the same time. I trying to 'maintain the rage' and finish a build in one go, without moving to another.

I am very tempted to start the F-15, you are not helping!

Hello, my name is Xavier. I joined a while back but never introduced myself or posted anything. I work at a public library in South Texas so I have a lot of internet time while I'm at work. I mostly build 1/48 NAVAIR jets but I'll build a prop or two when ever the feeling hits.

hi everyone, i'm a FNG on this site, but am glad to finally be able to post. i've been cruising the site for a while and am most impressed with the quality of work and conversation here. i am a father of two, small business owner, and into fishing, building, modelling of course, and generally all things that are cool. i would say i'm primarily a model shipwright who has found my way here on a sidetrack to learn more skills that the plastic modellers have, i.e. airbrushing, weathering etc. hopefully i will have valuable knowledge to share with you guys as well. thanks in advance, joe

Hi guys... Been a LONG while since I last participated- this thing called life kept getting in the way around these parts in the last 2 years or so- but going to give it a go once again. I'm currently working on a few projects, and will post some pics over on the flightline and the workbench soon. Looking forward to participating once again!

Cheers!

David here. I've been building models off and on since I was a kid.

I'm waiting for time to build a Hasegawa F-4J and the new Academy F-4B (waiting patiently for Furball to put out the F-4B MIG Killer decals).

I'm a middle school history teacher, guitarist, and model builder.

I spend as much time as I can with my wife and son (14 years old).

Ahoy thar me 'arties!
I'm Daniel F. from Melbourne town, just getting back into building. Been about 10 years since my last model, so just looking for a bit of input =)
I used to fly (nothing special just GA singles) but unfortunately the Cashflow Fairy can be a fickle bitch, so I'm grounded atm.

Welcome Daniel! Looking forward to seeing some in progress work from you (hint, hint ). The group here is a great bunch of guys and the resources and critiques are sure to make a better modeller out of you.

Hi Guys,
My name is Steve, I am English but have lived in B.C. since2008 [Vancouver], I have been modelling for about 40 yrs. mainly armour and ships, though I have got the urge to do some aircraft now and as such have increased the stash with some jets, now I have to see if I can get somewhere near the excellent standards I have seen here,
Cheers, Steve.
