Chris,
Pull the trigger! It's an incredible kit, probably the best F-4 kit ever made. It only has one shape issue, but it's not a deal breaker...I'm gonna probably purge my Hasegawa's one day... Jeff |

The ZM F-4 is as much of an advance over the Academy kit as the Academy kit was over the Hasegawa F-4's. I have all three and go buy it.

Brad,
At Nats this past summer they said all versions were up for grabs. They don't wanna back down.... ![]() Jeff |

Already built one nice kit, far better than Hasegawa, and considerably better in most ways than the Academy kit. I'd give it the top spot of 48th F-4s at this time and by far the best OOB cockpit.

What are the shape issues specifically?
Thinking about getting one but would like to know before I pull the trigger.

For those on Facebook, do you think it's worth a group build? I'll start one!

The only one I'm aware of is on the sides over the back near the nacelles. Somebody on ARC did a buncha stuff to prove its off. It may be a bit, but I'm not gonna lose sleep over it...

![]() Just wanted to make sure it didn't have some major shape issue, sounds like that area maybe just a red cunt hair off and not really noticeable. Got a bunch of Furball Decals that need something to be displayed on, sounds like this is a perfect blank canvas for a set.

I just got mine and all I can say is WOW. Can wait to get this one started. The level of detail is very impressive and from what I can see, better than any other 1/48 scale kit on the market. I will be grabbing several of these as soon as the Air Force variants come out! I'm thinking the C/D is going to be a huge hit!

I'm building one now alongside an Academy. The ZM is far nicer and much better detailed. I'm only about 1/3 through - but in the future - especially if they do other versions - ZM would be my first choice in 1/48 Phantoms.

Until the C/D comes out, will the Nose cone of the Academy fit on this kit?

Another issue is that in the Academy kit the radome base line (where it is attached to the fuselage) is too vertical when you look at it from the side. In the ZM kit the radome base line is correctly angled. One more reason the parts would not fit... Last edited by Vodnik; May 8th, 2017 at 01:22 AM. |
