Canopy is a little cloudy because this is poor quality plastic and not the finished article....yet.

The nose gear doors can be kept closed whilst on the ground as well so there is an option for open and closed doors depending on what the aircraft is doing i.e. in maintenance or at rest etc.

The correct upper wing reinforcement plates are in the correct place and of the correct shape.

All weapons are included as well as double LAU-115 and LAU-127's.

Choice of fuel tanks (we decided to include the smaller ones so you might choose to make luggage pods out of them although the F-20A never carried them).

AIM-9L and AIM-9M
AIM-120C
AIM-7

Boarding ladder all included.

You get a choice of flaps up or down, slat angle and canopy open or closed (of course). Also a choice of antennas and ECM.

Loads more to come and I can't spoil it too much.

Best regards as always,

Martin

I like all the details so far. That is a first test shot right? A few more iterations with the molds?

Chris,

You're the Ordy around here aren't you? Hehehe.
Well, the kit is mainly a what-if item anyway so we have allowed ourselves a modicum of leeway.

There are more what-if items in the box but I cannot reveal them yet.........

Quick announcement time. Our friends over at Red Star Scale Models will be getting their hands on our new F-20 Tigersharks in time for the IPMS / USA show. They have the exclusive debut of our newest kit on display at the IPMS/USA show! At very least they will have enough plastic for you to look at and give us some feedback on.
It is hoped that they will actually have some F-20 kits for sale. These will be the very first kits on sale so they really are exclusive!

Head on over and say hello to Paul and co at the show. He really is a great guy and very easy to speak to (hence why we chose him to show our kits first. There's always a reason in life isn't there).

Check out Red Star Scale Models on Facebook and online shop.

I wasn't a weapons guy, but I like your what-if idea. What-if you included aggressor decals?

The new F-20A kits are on the way. Shipping has begun.

Red Star Models run by Paul is one of the first to be getting them.
Once he is back from the Nats I am sure he will take preorders.

Visit him at:

Cheers.

I would like to know what are the Federal Standard colors FMK recommends for the three versions of the F-20? or what are the model paints recommended for this kit ?

Hi SouthViper,

I will answer your question in full later.

However, for N44671 (at Edwards Air Force Base in October 1984) it is not an FS colour but Mercedes 7172 Anthrazitgrau Metallic. In English it is Anthracite Grey.

We show an FS colour match to be close to FS16076 and this relates to C339 (H339 Gunze I believe but don't hold me to it).

If you wish to be perfectly accurate; http://www.langka.com/index.php/feat...tgrau-metallic

Follow the link. I have no connection with the above company and will not vouch for them at all).

Hope that helps so far.

Second Prototype N3986B (82-0063) 14/05/1983 at Goose Bay Canada should be FS36375 C308 (Gunze H308 or your usual Light Grey) on top surfaces and then FS36495 C338 (H338) on underside surfaces.

The FS codes are clearly displayed on the Freedom Model Kits instructions together with GSI Creos Mr. Color codes.

I am investigating the possibility of working with other paint manufacturers so watch this space.
