Default A couple of questions on the F-5E

Got a couple of quick questions on the F-5E:

1) Were the speed brakes always down while seating on the tarmac?

2) For USAF 64th Aggressor F-5Es, which was more common, white or aluminum colored landing gears? If white, where the wheel wells and wheel well doors white too? How about for Navy (i.e. VFC-13, etc) birds?

Thanks!

For the speedbrake, I'm 99% yes because there was no hydraulic pressure on the actuators to hold the doors closed.

I think all F-5’s had aluminum gear and wells.

Originally, but many have had the landing gear painted white, while the majority of the gear bays remained silver.

Taken in 2005. White gear. Depends on the jet and time period. Check your refs.
Although dont tell anyone you used a ref shot from an airshow. Apparently they only paint certain things especially for airshows

If I'm not mistaken, those are one of the F-5N's that the Navy bought back from Switzerland.
