Default Rules and stuff!!!!

Hello and welcome to the first ever Z5 group build...Some of the best in the hobby hang out here, you guys have made skillz, and your pretty cool to boot. So lets get down to business.

Start/End Date: June 1st through December 31st. Figure 7 months is enough time for everybody to get at least one kit built. And that way any follow-on GB's can get kicked off on News Years Day.

What can I build for this thing?? Any kit, in any scale, of any aircraft from any country that has participated in OEF/OIF, this includes aircraft that missions originated in other countries or at sea but the targets were in Afghanistan or Iraq. Sorry but Noble Eagle and ONW/OSW aren't eligble. Anything...helos, tilt-rotors, props, jets..you get the picture. Previously started kits, more than 15% complete, will not be permitted...so say you have built up the pit and painted it...that's fine, anymore than that is too much. Any and all aftermarket goodies are welcome.

Drawings/Prizes: There will be a drawing for those who complete a build. In the interest of fairness, a person who completes a build will only have their name put in the hat once...we have some great sponsors who have stepped up big time to support this thing..and since this is Z5 we are going to do something a little different at the end...I'll let that cat out of the bag once we have everything squared away with the sponsors....

How do I enter??? Just post in the thread below with your name and what you are going to build...pics are encouraged

Completed builds must be posted in the Gallery to be considered for the prize drawings.

There is "Project Threads" area for you to post your in-progress pics....

Many thanks to Fury for getting the forum up in record time..

That's about it...remember we go live in roughly two weeks so get ready and lets have some fun!!!!!

Updated the rules a bit to maybe help clear up some confusion...

Just helping Willie out here...hope he does not mind. Just to clarify the timeline, the dates for OEF are October 7, 2001-present, and March 20, 2003-present for OIF.

If I can get out of these barracks and manage to bring my bench out here, I'll join in the fun for sure.

Dumb question: do the markings have to depict what they looked like at the time (Say 2003 for my RAAF Hornet)? The one I wish to do has slightly different tail markings now than I believe it did during the operation.

I'm not up to date on the Marine operations as I should be, but I have a feeling that one is eligible....

Okay, how about the VF-102 Diamondbacks F-14B from OEF. Hasegawa kit, Blackbox pit, and Fightertown Decals.

I have the same question. I am doing VFA-94 shreks flame jet from FTD. I assume it is legal as the markings weren't applied until after OIF but the sheet is listed in the decal inventory thread

I've got that same question as well. My Swamp Fox Block 52's markings are from 2005, but it deployed in 2003.
