Default Kitty Hawk's 48th scale UH-1D/H

About darn time!! Way to go Floyd Werner!!

Kitty Hawk announced they will shelve the 35th scale and push forward on the more popular 48th scale Huey!! YEA!!!

Hope Kitty Hawk continues on the line of 48th scale US Army Vietnam era helicopters!! We were EVERYWHERE!!

Any US Army personnel that have photos of their rides/charges, guessing Floyd would love to see them for decal research. Both sides and detail of markings would help.

Can you say "AH-1G" in 48th? A Huey Cobra in 1/48th scale would be very welcome

Exactly. The last attempt at a G Snake was by Aurora?? years ago. Hoped Monogram would do a G after releasing that S Model.

AH-1G has a ton of markings to choose from as well. It's a no brainer. Ditto the Little Bird. OH-6 Loach would be welcome, too. All in 48th scale of course.

US Army Vietnam era helicopters are long over due!!

Well, since my 1/48 AH-1G is almost complete, of COURSE a G model Snake would be forthcoming! You're welcome!

Just kidding, new helos in ANY scale are always welcome! Although I have to say, I'd still like to see more 1/35 helos...

BTW, Hobby Link Japan is now selling Pre-Release kit at $47 and change due for release in April.

Box top is for a D Model; but, I hope it has parts for the Hotel Huey!! Over twice as many Hotels were made over the Deltas. And many Deltas were converted to Hotels.

Really hope Kitty HAwk nails this subject.

The 1/35th scale kit has not been abandoned, just postponed slightly. The box will have the parts for the UH-1D/H. I should have pre-production treat shots by the end of the month. I'll post pics when I can.

Werner's Wings is doing a sheet with no less than 20 aircraft. We are working on it now.

Well, I finally got my hands on this new 48th Huey, and it's Light Years ahead of any other Huey on the market, today!!
Haven't started it yet tho, as I have another subject in work and another promised behind that. It's okay as Werner Wings decals is making decals on one particular Unit that I MUST build.
Kudos to all at Kitty Hawk and Floyd Werner/others for their efforts!! Not perfect; but, what is?????
