Well, I have some good news/bad news for you guys:

Good news: I have art
Bad news: It ain't right, not by a long shot.

I am committed to bringing you guys the most comprehensive, well-researched and correct sheet that I can, and what I have in hand doesn't meet that goal. I'd show you what I'm talking about, but I don't have permission to share the pictures that prove what I'm saying. I'm as disappointed to have to say what I'm saying as you guys are to have to be reading this.

VF-111 WILL be released, and it WILL be correct. I'm going to focus on getting this right before I worry about VF-92 or any other sheet.

Thanks for the update! It's not like I don't have any one (or 400...) other kits to build now, but I already have one Academy F-4B reserved to become a specific VF-111 machine from your sheet and would hate to be forced to change my plans

Backing up what Hazelnuts posted, I was shocked at what I saw. There's no way that sheet could be released as it is. My first response was "um...we've waited this long for this?". I'm not even a 111 fan and I found a ton of errors just on one of the jets alone just by pulling up some refs I found on line.

The 2 guys we have proofing this project (who I'd deem 111 experts) found a laundry list of errors. I actually got tired of reading the email about half way through it.

Regardless, this is a prime example of the dedication to releasing a product as accurately as possible and everyone's patience is appreciated.

Agents in the field have given me the following. Anything further could compromise operations...

Ok guys, here's the scoop:

I'm giving this sheet to another artist. After conferring with Jack (from his hospital bed, I might add), we've mutually decided that it's best to hand this one off to be redone. There's just too much wrong with the initial art, and Jack's health is declining too rapidly for him to continue drawing art. He's agreed to help with research, so we'll still be able to bring you VF-92 and other Vietnam-era decals.

While I don't have the details, I do know he still isn't home as of last night, when I talked to him. He's hopeful that they'll release him today, though. He did say that he's at least enjoying the "scenery" of the hospital he's been transferred to, so its obvious he's in better spirits than before.

Yes, and I've been meaning to keep everyone informed, but been too busy of late to do so (looking for houses and such).

I'm not going to be releasing anything new until after New Year's. The holidays are normally a hectic time anyway, but this year, doubly so. 2 weeks after Thanksgiving, I'm moving my wife and kids over to DFW from Alabama. A week and a half later is Christmas... I just don't have the time to deal with the work that involves a new release until after the holidays. I get close to 2 weeks off for the Christmas/New Year's holiday, though, due to a shutdown at the plant I'm at, so I'll spend some of that time finalizing art, placement guides and whatnot.

So, because of the move, I've put all the new releases, not just -111 and -92, on hold until the holidays.

When they are ready let me know. Still have a couple sheets to pick up from group builds on ARC a couple years back.

Ok quick update:

There were a few hiccups in the process with VF-111 (story of this sheet, huh?), but I *think* I've got everything worked out, and we are plowing ahead with VF-111. I went out and found the best artist I could to redraw VF-111, and he's agreed to help me out. I think we'll ALL be happy with the results.

Now, a few of you on ARC noticed that I posted something about a special "Thank you" bonus for the first 100 guys who order this sheet when it's ready. I know from the PM's I've gotten that you're eager to know what your bonus is going to be. Wait no more:

This is just going to be the markings for the jet: tail flag, victory stripe, BuNos, MODEX, etc. Data markings and such will not be included, but I doubt that will be much of a problem for anyone with the Academy kit.

Thought you'd like to know...

The minimum print run is 300, so there will definitely be extras. I'm still thinking through the details of what to do with them.

I hope these are still coming out one day. I have actually been saving two models for these sheets.
