Default Raptor A/R

All,

Tech Sgt. Russ Scalf captured these night refueling pictures from the back of a KC-10. The Raptors were out of Al Dhafrah and on their way to targets in Syria... hunting ISIS in the middle of the night.

It's kind of a dorky looking jet on the ground - but those shots are totally bad ass...

Default Pilots

All,

Did you notice in the bottom picture it looks like the pilot has on night vision goggles? Either that... or The Sand People are now flying our Raptors. One word... Utinni!

Default Alert

All,

The only picture I have ever seen of a nuclear armed FB-111A on SAC Alert during an exercise response. Do you see the B-61 on the inboard left pylon? Those were interesting days!

Default Speaking Engagement

All,

For those of you in the Utah area, I will be speaking at the Hill AFB Museum auditorium this coming Saturday, 7 January 2017 at 1 pm. Some of the stories you have read in this thread may make the speech/lecture cut. I am bringing a lot of pictures just to throw up on the screen. The Hill AFB Museum is outside the gate so you will not need an ID Card to get in and admission is free.

Thought you might like to know...

Mark

That is a very cool picture! Thanks for posting that.

Along with the B-61, it also clearly shows the fuel pods at odd angles.

Default Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit

All,

I received the first edited manuscript back from the publisher and they love it. Guess what they like the most? The pictures. They called about a month ago and asked me to pick 32 pictures for a 16-page insert included in the book. So spent a weekend with a digital artist working through the 1000's of pictures I have.

Tanker Pilot is now available for pre-order on Amazon at

https://www.amazon.com/Tanker-Pilot-.../dp/1501181661

I would hurry and pre-order... the price has risen a buck in a month!

Default Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit

All,

My book Tanker Pilot: Lessons from the Cockpit has been on the shelves for about four weeks now. Amazon sells it for $17.10 and Barnes and Noble for $26. Not sure about Books-a-Million. Amazon reviews are really good... 4.8 out of five stars in 34 reviews. Some of the pictures you have seen here made it into the book.

If you want to read a book that takes you behind the scenes in four wars or need a good Christmas gift, I highly recommend Tanker Pilot.

I bought it for my son for Christmas. Rather than tell him 100 of my tanker flying stories I'll let him read the book!
