Default Academy F-4B into an F-4C

How difficult would it be to turn the academy F-4B into an F-4C ? I know I need different afterburner cans and cockpit but what else ?

Default Dude, wait for the C to come out from Academy... The wing is the bigger issue

If you looked in the box, you'd swear that a C/D was the intended target but with the thin wing it can only be a B or a very early C that the USAF used to evaluate. The cockpit is more likely based on a C than a B if you ask me. Sans of course the minamal attempt in the rear. I've been hacking away at the B, or more precisely a QF-4B for some time now and MAN is there a lot to do to make it look like a B should especially in the rear.

Just a wait for the C to come out, it's on it's way soon!

Cheers

Actually, the burner cans were the same on the -B and the -C. The big problem is the thin wing, which was used only by the B/N (and some RF-4Bs). The -C had the bulged wing, and it's more than just the wing itself. The bulge carried over onto the gear doors and speed brakes, and the tires were larger.

I did a parts breakdown a while ago here, and the kit clearly is set up for a C or D. You would need to replace a couple of sprues.

Or you can just wait the C/D version is announced to be released this year.

I am doing a C right now. I am using the Hasegawa J with a Royal Resin nose and a set of Brassin early model burner cans. I always do AM pits, and am using the Aires pit for this one The res of the changes I did myself... Like modding the nose gear door and filling in the panel lines for the side refueling probe. Pretty simple actually. Or just do what Spark suggested...wait for the C offering. Just remember they were releasing the B every year for like 3 years.
