Default Composition question

Okay, these 2 images were taken on different locations at different times. They cover the same point in the program from different angles.

1) Head-on

2) From side, full-image vertical format

3) From side, zoomed-in, and cropped to horizontal format

Which image do you find most appealing and why? Are there creative shots/ angles/ perspectives that you incorporate into your images?

Also, I'm making a conscious effort to "personalize" my aviation images by including spectators/ crew to add a sense of scale and emotion. Am I successfully conveying this? ->Blue Angels Composition<-

I like the first one.....something about the symmetry of the jet and the pilot. The pilot looks like he is part of the jet. A cool shot.

I agree. The other shots are nice, but since the jets aren't lined up exactly, the assymetry of the canopies/landing gears is throwing me off.

I like the first one best by far. Not a typical shot - gets you close up. #2 seems pretty standard, and #3 improves on 2, and gives it a more personal feel.

When I'm looking at aviation photos now, anything that hasn't been done a thousand times will always get my attention (I can only imagine how hard that is - but it does seem to hold true).

Picture 2 gives the most depth and therefore I like it the best (could use a little more tweaking). Picture 3 doesn't nearly give the same amount of depth and focuses too much on details. Pic 1 dito and looks too 2D.

My fave is image 3.
Its focus IS the team with all the crews clearly looking at the leaders aircraft.
Images of aircraft IMO with dead space like image two lower third needs to be for aesthetic reasons and i really dont see an aesthetic purpose to the space in this case.
For image 1 i would also crop it closer in just under the bullet of the nose to see how it looks to focus on the stare of the pilot and CC.
If its about the crews close crops to me are the point..if its about the aircraft dont crop the noses..if both you have it in image 3.
