I just got a pair. I thought the body of these mines was supposed to be smooth. Both of mine are faceted longitudinally. In other words, the cross section of the body is not a circle but a polygon. Are yours the same?

Mine came out fine, they will need to be sanded just a little due to the 3D printing but that's to be expected.

IIRC there was two option when you ordered them for how they were to be printed, if you chose the cheaper options they would come out rougher then the more expensive option.

But to answer your question, yes the Mk 52 and 55 were "smooth skinned" weapons.

I ordered the more expensive extreme detail option. I primed one gray so you can see the ridges and grooves running down the body of the mine:

The ridges and grooves are from the 3D printing process so you will need to sand the it smooth. The one's I have do have ridges/grooves, though not as bad as your's appears to be.
