In the 1976 movie "Midway" they used color stock footage of Vindicators in this scheme for background shots. I remember thinking where did they find a half-dozen Vindicators and then my dad explained the mix of old footage.

Default Cheering at a movie

As a kid, Midway was the first movie I saw that had the early "surround sound" People also stood up and cheered when the bombs started falling on the Japanese flat tops. Interesting experience.
