Their webpage haven't been updated for nearly 2 years, and I have heard rumours that they have closed shop?
Huh? the last update on the website was January 7, and I spent quite a bit of money with them at Nordicon. Are we looking at the same website?

Hi Niels,
Would you do me a favor and as soon as you get your gun pod, let me know what you think. I have a Trumpeter F-106 that I'm gathering parts for and the aircraft is from a unit that used the pod.
Thanks

Hey Niels,
Your F-106 looks great. I just ordered the gun pack from Roll Models, and while I was doing some research on the 106 that I'm going to build, I found out that Aires is in the process of doing a cockpit for it. Your model is all closed up and built for in flight display.....what did you think of the stock pit for you model?

Thank you Brad!
It is very nice - I used the decals for the instrument panels and side panels, and they fit very well. Very little distortion on the uneven surface of the IP.
The kit actually has the best fit outside Tamiya I've experienced!

I see this thread has been here for a while but having just completed the Trumpeter F-106A and also owning the old Monogram kit I thought I'd make a few observations. First, contrary to the original "review" opening this thread, the Trumpeter Dart is most definitely not based on the Monogram kit. Any seeming similarities are simply due to the two kits being of the same subject. Afterburner and nozzle, cockpit, landing gear bays, missile bay, undercarriage details, etc. are totally different between the two kits. Trumpeter also has separate flaps, ailerons, and rudder. In fact the entire vertical fin is a separate unit.

Details are more refined and crisper on the Trumpeter kit and while the main undercarriage assembly is exquisite, there is a subtle error that few reviewers have caught. Trumpeter has the main retraction struts attached to the rear of both main legs but on the actual aircraft the retraction strut is in the back on the left side and in the front on the right. In other words, they are "unhanded" and the parts are interchangeable between the two sides. BTW, Monogram got that detail right.

Overall fit of the Trumpeter kit is very good (not something that is said of the Monogram kit) and builds into an impressive model. I won't speak to the nose and intake shape debates other than to say it looks like an F-106 when done. The only thing I'd say really needs upgraded is the ejection seat and the True Details replacement is nearly a drop-fit and a huge improvement.

Cheers,
Eric
