Default M1A2 Abrams issues

I need some help from those of you who actually drive tanks... M1A2 crewmembers need only apply here. I am trying to help a friend do the definitive M1A2 Abrams tank model with all of the most up to date equipment and configuration on it. Can those of you who are currently M1A2 drivers / loaders or crew contact me via message here so I can ask a few questions and maybe come see you to photo and measure the current M1A2 configuration? Thanks in advance for the help.

Don't know anything about tanks, but here's Tamiya's latest and greatest preview release for December.

I'm building the M1A2 here in my BOQ room. If you buy the older kit without the non-skid, here are some links on how to do it. I spent about 2 hours this past Saturday night masking up the body and the top of the turret...bought some of the Rust-Oleum Muticolored Textured and sprayed the parts (in the bathtub). It dried quick and turned out fantastic!

I have a Warrant Officer helo driver that works with me that in his previous life drove a M1 for the Army into Iraq. Toward the end of the conflict there, they took everything off the tops of their tanks (boxes , MRE's, plastic bottles)...pretty much anything flammable. Lessons learned I guess that all that stuff on the "roof" has a tendency to catch fire and makes for an interesting time getting in/out of the tank.
