Default Happy early Holidays from Fightertown USA

With the new releases of VF-101 and VF-103 just out, I thought I'd give a glimpse at what's next.

If we can sell another 100 copies of the VF-101 and VF-103 sheets, Fightertown USA part 1 should be out well in time for Christmas shopping...

VF-51/111 & 191/194....Ah, the final sprint to Reagan's goal of a 600-ship Navy! The best of times, the worst of times. Nice.
Shoot. Missed the obvious- VF-1 & 2!

Sheets are now up. Unfortunately due to a Yahoo sitebuilder error, there is no front page, no direct links to the sheets, no images and no titles to where the sheets are. It's unclear if Yahoo will correct this anytime soon, in fact due to the nature of the error, it is unlikely yahoo will fix the problem and we are currently looking for new hosting and building a new website...

But we can 't wait any longer and you probably don't want to wait any longer, SO... you can buy the sheets. Get to the 1/48 product page. The top 2 sheets (with no images and the right one has a distorted 48074 titling) are the BUY NOW link buttons. One is for 48075 and the other is 48076. Clicking them will take you to the checkout page that shows the correct sheet selected.

It sucks, but it's workable for the immediate future....

TIA!

Question on the VF-2 options - it shows dark (black) nose gear doors and TCS pod. Did these have false canopies, and if so what was the design?
Do you have pics/instructions for the underside?

thx,
Mike

Yes they did, at least during my time on the Ranger. This is one of my pix taken between 89-91 era

Eddie,
I highly recommend it! I just got mine today. Originally, I ordered it for the VF-111 bird. However, now that I have it in hand and looked over, the VF-1 and 2 birds (both hi and low vis) are very nice!!
They'll go nicely with my VA-145 A-6 as well!!

thanks for the pic!
Mike

Thanks for the review Mike. It's been very hard to find VF-1 & 2 sheets where the birds were attached to the Ranger during my tour aboard her...

The sheet is very well printed, and I really like how they include helmet markings for most of the options.
Also, since many of them are early A's, I can use some of my original monogram kits without too much work!
You wouldn't happen to have more pics of VF-1 and 2 from that time would you? I haven't been able to turn up much from that time frame (maybe why there's not many sheets available!). I think I was only able to find one or two pics of VF-2 with low vis Langley stripes.

cheers,
Mike

I've got a few you might like..you can look through this thread of my USN pix
http://www.zone-five.net/showthread.php?t=8773

I think you might find what you're looking for. I'll also start digging out a couple of VF-1 pix that I doubt have ever been made into decals..

I'm glad to be of service. I'll look around for more prints from that time period and really mess with your head.
