I honor of my new job offer at Pax River, I will be building:
1/48 Hasegawa F/A-18F
FTD: Salty Dog 123
2x Wolfpack LAU-115/LAU-127 Launcher set for F/A-18
12 x AIM-120 from Tamiya F-16

I've been gathering supplies and references for this one for a while, now it is time to get going!

Hi,

1) Hasegawa 1/48 F-4S.
2) No aftermarket planned.
3) Afterburner Decals 48-051, BuNo 155749.
4) There are more Mc Air subjects that I'd like to build than is feasible in a lifetime.
Even with some restraint, I'll probably post more subjects here than I'll finish.
My subjects aren't just going to be Mc Air, they're going to be Mc Air with decals from (my) heroes of the aftermarket decal world.
I thought I was never going to feel like building an F-4S until I had a good look at Afterburner Decals 48-051.
I'm going for 155749 because I like the scheme, it has a Mig Kill marking from the 10th of May 1972 and I can have a false canopy on it.
I'm going to build this wheels-up, so that I'll be able to admire the scheme from all sides.

Cheers, Stefan.

Hi,

Here I go again...
1) Academy 1/48ish TA-4J.
2) No aftermarket planned.
3) Fightertown Decals 48-027, BuNo 158465 "The Saint".
4) I bought the sheet because I want to do a really good BuNo 153683 "The Mig". These markings will go on a Hasegawa kit some day.
It seemed a bit wasteful not to do anything with the rest of those lovely decals. Luckily, with the Hasegawa kit being on the market, I found an Academy kit at a swap meet. Someone got rid of that (including a Superscale sheet) for 5 Euros.
This, combined with the FTD sheet, provides an excellent opportunity to have fun with the airbrush without worrying too much about accuracy. I like the scheme of "The Saint": the topside looks like a bird of prey soaring on thermals to me.

Cheers, Stefan.

Hi,

Another one from me.
1) 1/72 Fujimi A-4C, Ted Schwartz's Mig-Killer.
2) No aftermarket planned.
3) Wolfpak Decals Sheet 72-019 "Air To Air Warriors".
4) Another subject that I can do with a sheet from an awesome decal-maker.
Mark does some subjects that no other company seems to want to touch, in 1/72 no less.
Fujimi's neat little kit gives us a fine decal sheet, but the box-art is somewhat misleading. It shows a VA-76 A-4C from the USS Independence dropping the droptanks to engage a North Vietnamese Mig-17. The problem is that VA-76 never went to Vietnam with that carrier.
USS Independence did one Vietnam cruise, but without VA-76.
The Mig Kill took place during a cruise in the USS Bon Homme Richard.
As much as like the idea of shooting Zuni's at Mig-17's, the subject appeals even more to me because I can have the USS Bon Homme Richard name on the aircraft.
I have an interest in the action packed history of the Essex-class carriers and the USS Bon Homme Richard is the only one of the class that saw combat in WW2, Korea and Vietnam.
Many of these carriers saw combat in two of these wars, but only the USS Bon Homme Richard did all three.

Cheers, Stefan.

Hi,

Me again!

1) Hasegawa 1/72 F-4J.
2) No aftermarket planned.
3) Fox One decals forF-4J 155553 "AE212" of VF33. Mig-Killer on the 10th of July 1968, first kill for the F-4J.
4) I've always wanted to build this one. Maybe I'm entering too many projects in the GB, but this is a fine opportunity to build this one.
I have one of the original 1990 issues of the Hasegawa F-4J (With the VF-21 box cover) in the stash for this. Only the droptank has been glud together.
Part of the desire to build this one is the ambition to build an F-4 with the carrier name of every carrier that deployed to the Gulf of Tonkin with F-4's during 1964-73 with authentic markings.

Cheers, Stefan.

1) F-4C, Hasegawa
2) True Details cockpit, AMS Resins intake covers
3) mix of decals to create 110FS/MoAng jet

and

1) F-15B, Haswgawa E built as B
2) no aftermarket
3) mix of decals to create 110FS/MoAnd Jet

I'm gonna do the two McAir jets used by the Missouri Air Guard. One F-4C and a F-15B. I wanted to do something a little different than the F-4E that would normally be done and differnt than the F-15As and Cs were used to. But the B model depends on me finding better pics.

Since it's early on in the build, I'm changing my entry. Gonna do the "Paper Tiger II", A-1H Buno 135297 from VA-25 off of the Midway circa 1965.....complete with the famous Toilet Bomb (thanks Louie!)
Tamiya 1/48 A-1H
CMK Interior set
Engine and Things R-3350-26WA engine
Aeromaster 48-530 decals
resin toilet bomb and rack system ....mastered and poured by Louie
Totally forgot I had this thing ready to go.....A perfect excuse to get it done.....Cliff

Well, the Apache's on the back-burner for now, so I'm going forward with my Revell F-15E. At this point, it'll be tail number 90-244 from the 391st Bold Tigers using the Mountain Home Avengers decals from Twobobs with a home-made tail number (Thank's Scott). It'll have Shull24's LAU-128's and Sniper pod as well as (possibly) some parts from the Wolfpack-D update set. I'm still debating on using the G-factor landing gear I got, as it is not any better than the stock gear, and does not have the shimmy dampener on it, and I'm not sure how to drill into the metal to add it on. Last but not least, I'll be using Royal Resin wheels on the project as well.

Aaron

Ps. Here's the plane in the Sandbox.

Hi,

This is the last one...really.

1) Hasegawa 1/48 F/A-18C.
2) Pavla Models resin SJU-5/A seat.
3) Flying Leathernecks FL 48003, DB12 of VMFA-235.
4) Well, Dave Roof couldn't be left out of a line-up of aftermarket decal heroes, could he?
The sight of the VFA-37 build in the previous GB gave me a desire to build a Hasegawa F/A-18, something I've never done before.
I'm aiming for a relaxed build of a low-viz Hornet. FL 48003 fits the bill perfectly...I feel relaxed already looking over a sheet that has everything.
Oh, yes...I saw VMFA-235 once before they disbanded and the model will look interesting next to my Monogram F-8E of VMFA-235.

Cheers, Stefan.

Can I play Eugene!!??

Well it's been the better part of a year since I did any modeling... So it's time to dust off the bench and get back in the game.

Gonna do a 1/48th HAS F/A-18E. Planning an OOB build as of now, but may add some goodies along the way if the mood strikes me. Will be doing VFA-31's CAG bird using the imminently forthcoming sheet from Scott & Co over at Afterburner.

Dave

Ok this is my first time entering a group build so be gentle.

1. 1/48 Hasegawa F-4E
2. Possibly some Aires burner cans
3. Two Bobs (boo hiss :P) Kara Sahin Phantom (Turkey)

I really like the looks of this jet and now this gives me the motivation to actually finish it.

Let me look through my photo CD's,I think I may have a couple of shots of the SL F-15B.

...Go large or go home, Marine! ~Have one of these on-order from Phil's; hoping it might be in this weekend so I can pick it up Saturday. Want to do it in adversary cammo (...what else would you expect from me?) Interested to hear how your build progresses...
