This is the first installment of my Summer of Scooters (which, I'm clearly behind on...). I'm going to go ahead and call this one done, though I'd give it a B. This is a nice little kit, though the tailhook was short shot and missing, and I enjoyed putting it together. I wanted to have some fun building stuff I liked this summer and this is the first result. Work included Apoxie seat belts, scratch built replacement tailhook, painted blue tails, with stars and the stars and bars on the wing. So often on scooters, the stars and bars on the wing is a decal that has to go down over those vortex generators and it's just really, really hard to get them to look good. In this case I painted it using paint masks cut with my Silhouette Portrait. The load out is fictitious (at least I think it is) with an LAU-10 with Zunis, 2 AGM-12 Bullpups, an AGM-62 Walleye and a centerline fuel tank.

One other thing - I just noticed today that I painted the raised canopy (which I had to build a mechanism to hold it open) a different gray than the rest of the plane. It's close enough I'm not going to redo it, but there you go....

Looks GREAT, I'm giving it an A+.

As for the canopy being a different color, they just had to rob a canopy from the hanger queen and corrosion hasn't had time to repaint it (if they every will).

That's a great build of a beautiful aircraft!

I wouldn't mind if you make it a "decade of Skyhawks".
The resulting flightline would be quite a sight.

Cheers, Stefan.

Beautifully done! Those little Fujimi Scooters always impress me. Canīt see enough of them. Keep them coming.
